Brilliant sunshine, superb Tokaj wines, spectacular concerts and a friendly atmosphere. Between 18 and 20 September, Tállya was once again buzzing with life: nearly ten thousand visitors, including locals, attended the 11th Kerekdomb Festival. Friday evening was highlighted by a sold-out concert by Parno Graszt, Saturday by a sold-out concert by Quimby, and this year’s festival drew to a close on Sunday with a performance by the Momentán Theatre Company.
The festival hosted 160 events across 20 venues, whilst 25 family-run wineries took part in the event. Alongside the pop music concerts, several theatre and literary performances also took place to full houses, and all places for the Colas mine tour were booked up even before the festival began.
Once again this year, Kerekdomb demonstrated that there are countless ways to bid farewell to summer: whether through a concert on the main stage, an intimate literary evening or an excursion through the picturesque landscapes of Tokaj-Hegyalja. Music, theatre, literature, wine culture and nature-based programmes once again complemented one another, whilst the glorious sunshine proved particularly conducive to outdoor experiences.
